Shopping in Alkmaar
Shops in Alkmaar are very varied. The old city includes many small boutiques, galleries, and furniture shops. The Langestraat and Laat high streets provide well-known large shops, and the Noorder Arcade shopping centre has various mega stores selling items for sports, fashion, and furniture, all within walking distance of the cheese market.
Every first Sunday of the month the shops are open from 12-17 hours.
